Mary comfortably balances subject and abstraction.

Painting primarily in oil, but also occasionally working with mixed media, Mary comfortably balances subject and abstraction.  Based on the peninsula Ardmore Point in the west of Scotland, she works from her off grid Lochside studio. Spending most of her days there, Mary's appreciation of skies and the rhythm of water to shoreline has become a familiar, much-loved subject.

Born in Edinburgh, she studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, graduating in 2000. She then worked in commercial design for a few years, continuing her painting practice as a means of personal expression of creativity through those years. Since becoming a full-time artist, Mary has exhibited widely and has her work in private collections around the world in Britain, Germany, France, Australia, Canada, and Spain. She has exhibited regularly across the UK and has had 3 sell out shows at the Battersea Affordable Art Fair.
