Jane is a painter from Shropshire who has had a long career in the creative arts.
Jane is a painter originally from North Staffordshire and is a graduate from Manchester Polytechnic with a degree in Textile Design. She now lives and works in rural Shropshire. Jane has over forty years of experience in the creative arts as a full-time professional artist, freelance designer and educator.
For twenty-seven years she was a university lecturer teaching visual studies to textile and fashion students at degree level. Her studio is at the top of a house that was built during the reign of Queen Anne in 1710, with a lovely open garden and panoramic views of the Shropshire Hills.
Having also lived in Edinburgh, the Scottish Borders, York, Leicester and Fife, Jane has had many opportunities to explore the British Isles. She has been especially curious about places at extreme coastal edges notably the Outer Hebrides and Cornwall. On holiday abroad, Greek islands are a firm favourite.
Her paintings are held in private collections throughout the world including UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore and Europe. They can also be found in UK hospitals bought by the organisation Paintings in Hospital.
