Ellen draws influences from the changing nature of organic forms...

Ellen was exposed to art at a young age and was encouraged to develop an artistic practice by her parents. Growing up, she was inspired by plastic casts of classical and modern sculptures by Henry Moore and Barbera Hepworth. As her practice developed over the years, Ellen began drawing influences from the changing nature of organic forms.

Ellen studied sculpture at the Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen, after which she taught art for many years across Scotland. She is a professional member of Society of Scottish Artists (SSA), Visual Arts Scotland (VAS) and Paisley Art Institute (PAI) and has been the recipient of a number of awards over the years including a travelling scholarship from art school and several prizes from Royal Scottish Academy, VAS and PAI.
