Through research and dimensionality to her practice, various narratives and research find themselves creating the basis of her work.

Sue uses the medium of print to crystallise her ideas where she transforms complex landscapes morphing them into simpler structural forms. Through personal interviews, archival research and her love of walking, Sue begins her process by becoming familiar with a particular landscape. The outcome, rather than a representational depiction, is a combination of several places distilled into one landscape resulting in a personal dialogue. Through this research and dimensionality to her practice, various narratives and research find themselves creating the basis of her work. Relying on print as the ultimate tool of self-expression, Sue is fascinated by the eloquence of the medium and the freedom it allows to develop her own visual language.

Sue is a multi-media artist with drawing, painting, and particularly printmaking in the heart of her practice. A member of Edinburgh Printmakers, she is currently based in East Lothian. Having a career in art and education, she has taught relief printing, worked on commissioned projects, exhibited widely across the UK, and has undertaken several art residencies including with Arts Council England, Metal Culture and Hay Festival UK.
