Capturing fleeting moments in nature
Nancy has been drawing and painting since she was very young. It brings her happiness and a sense of fulfillment. She worked in charities for many years, running large fundraising campaigns. It's an interesting job that has introduced her to wonderful and often funny people. One memorable experience was being a chaperone for Ant and Dec when they were under 18 at a private Stevie Wonder concert. She  grew up near trout streams in Hampshire, worked as a hat designer in Leicester, taught in Edinburgh, and then became a charity leader in London. She finally settled in Bristol 20 years ago to raise her two daughters and now enjoys being a grandparent to six. She started painting professionally in 2019, just before the lockdown. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, it gave her more time to paint. Over the past few years, she's had the opportunity to exhibit her work alongside respected British artists like Grayson Perry, Antony Gormley, Maggie Hambling, and Anish Kapoor. Nancy has sold artwork all around the world and now proudly calls herself an artist. As an artist, She finds inspiration in capturing fleeting moments in nature. She's captivated by the beauty of a pear, the delicate petals of a poppy before they fall, and the bloom of a plum. Spending time in nature, whether it's a short walk with her dog or a long hike with friends, fuels her creativity and continually inspires her art.
