His compositions focus both on the wonders of architecture and the vitality of nature.

Jason Cordingley works with texture and bold colours to bring a dreamlike element to his stunning cityscapes and landscapes. His compositions focus both on the wonders of architecture and the vitality of nature. Distinctive Artistic Approach

Over the past thirty years, Jason has developed a unique stylistic approach to landscape painting that uses multiple layers of oil paint thickeners and glazes. He adds textured depth of several centimetres to the canvas, creating a sculptural feel to his paintings. Particularly interested in capturing the changing nature of light's interaction with the world around us, Jason's expressive oil compositions are evocative and dramatic. Inspired by the morphing qualities of light and atmosphere, his paintings push the scale of colour saturation, playing with extreme textures through impasto techniques to create intense lighting effects that interact with abstracted images of sky, sea and land.
