Jason’s expressive oil compositions are evocative and dramatic.

Developing a stylistic approach to landscape painting over the part thirty years, Jason uses multiple layers of oil paint thickeners and glazes. With this, he adds textured depth of several centimetres to the canvas creating a sculptural feel to his paintings. Particularly interested in capturing the changing nature of light’s interaction with the world around us, Jason’s expressive oil compositions are evocative and dramatic. Inspired by the morphing qualities of light and atmosphere, his paintings push the scale of colour saturation. He plays with extreme textures through impasto techniques in paint creating intense lighting effects that interact with abstracted images of sky, sea and land.
