We accept all major UK and international credit and debit cards including Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Payment can be made in person at the gallery or online. Unfortunately, we cannot accept cash payments.

OwnArt: Interest-Free Instalments for Contemporary Art

As an OwnArt gallery in Edinburgh, Graystone Gallery offers interest-free credit that makes collecting contemporary Scottish art more accessible. The OwnArt scheme allows you to spread the cost of original artworks over 10 monthly instalments, bringing home your chosen piece immediately whilst paying comfortably over time.

How OwnArt Works

OwnArt provides loans from £100 to £2,500 (larger loans up to £25,000 available at our discretion) with 0% APR, meaning you pay back exactly what you borrow with no hidden fees or interest charges. This national initiative, supported by Creative Scotland, has enabled over 83,000 customers across the UK to purchase contemporary art since 2004.

Eligible Artworks

All original artworks by living artists at Graystone Gallery are eligible for OwnArt, including:

• Contemporary Scottish paintings
• Sculptures and three-dimensional works
• Ceramics and glass art
• Limited edition prints
• Mixed media pieces

Whether you're drawn to atmospheric Scottish landscapes, abstract compositions, or ceramic art, OwnArt makes building your collection achievable.

Who Can Apply

OwnArt is available to UK residents over 18 who are:

• Working at least 16 hours per week (employed or self-employed)
• Retired and receiving a pension
• In receipt of disability allowance

If you don't meet these criteria but live with a partner who does, you may still apply by including their income details on your application.

Simple Application Process

1. Choose your artwork – Browse our collection in the gallery or online
2. Speak with us – Let us know you'd like to use OwnArt (we'll guide you through the process)
3. Complete the application – A straightforward 10-minute online form
4. Receive instant decision – Most applications receive immediate approval
5. Take your artwork home – Collect your piece the same day

Applications are processed by Novuna Personal Finance, and approval is subject to status. The entire process typically takes just 10 minutes, with instant decisions in most cases.

Making OwnArt Work for You

For a £2,500 artwork, your monthly repayments would be £250 over 10 months. A £1,000 piece breaks down to £100 monthly – making significant contemporary artworks accessible within monthly budgets whilst supporting living Scottish artists.
