Nancy Chambers' "Finding Summer" bursts with vibrant energy through its striking composition of poppies arranged in a crystal-clear vase. This acrylic on board (36 x 36 cm framed) showcases Chambers' remarkable ability to capture light, transparency, and vivid colour. Against a rich navy background that transitions to a cool white foreground, six poppies in shades of fuchsia, crimson, and fiery orange appear to dance above their delicate green stems. The artist's confident brushwork creates flowers with faceted, gem-like qualities, their petals catching light as though illuminated from within. The transparent vase, masterfully rendered with subtle reflections and water distortions, anchors the composition while allowing the blooms to command attention.

Creating Atmosphere Through Floral Art
Displayed in a living space, "Finding Summer" transforms the atmosphere with its jewel-like intensity and emotional warmth. The compact square format creates an intimate viewing experience while making a bold visual statement that draws the eye from across a room. The painting's contemporary approach to the traditional still life genre demonstrates Chambers' fresh perspective, breathing new life into floral representation. The work's radiant palette evokes the height of summer's abundance, bringing that season's joy and vibrancy into any interior throughout the year, creating a focal point that simultaneously soothes and energises the surrounding space.
