Can you resist the allure of the unknown? What lies beyond the physical boundaries of a canvas?
In this show, we explore the limits of perspective and the boundaries of suggestion. The sky’s the limit (figuratively) as we ask you to consider not just what you can see but what you can’t.
We’re inviting you to explore realms of thought and emotion beyond the tangible. The exhibition brings together a diverse group of contemporary artists, each interpreting the idea of horizons—both literal and metaphorical—through their works.
With these works, we asked each artist to use their unique visual vocabulary to entice and enthral us. We asked them to consider what lies beyond the limits of the canvas and the frame. If their work evokes a feeling or a sense of place, what would you encounter just out of sight? What cues could lead you in that direction?
Each artist brings their unique interpretation of the horizon as a metaphor for boundaries, possibilities, and exploration. Their collective work invites you to consider what lies beyond the familiar, pushing the limits of perception and imagination. In ‘Beyond This Horizon’, our artists deconstruct familiar forms and landscapes, dissolving them into colours, textures, and shapes that evoke feelings more than specific scenes.
