Her first and over-riding love was always colour and paint.

Claire MacLellan  has made her home and studio overlooking Loch Lomond for over 34 years, where she lives with her family and dogs. While she previously worked in the events industry and ran her own business, her enduring passion has always been color and paint. This creative calling led her to pursue artistic education locally with an influential tutor and at The Glasgow School of Art, developing her distinctive artistic voice.

Creative Process and Approach

Claire draws inspiration from her stunning surroundings, creating a diverse portfolio spanning landscapes, still life, design, and illustration. Working quickly with mixed media on board and recycled card, she translates sketchbook thoughts and impulsive responses into vibrant compositions. Claire paints what she sees rather than what is there, freeing herself from the constraints of perspective and scale to reinterpret the familiar with spontaneity and joy.
