He paints using oils, paying close attention to every detail...

Leon Anderson is a self-taught Scottish painter based in South Queensferry who merges his love of dogs and other animals with 17th and 19th-century portraiture to create playful works filled with character. He paints using oils, paying close attention to every detail, with each work displaying a sense of the animal's personality and a touch of humour. His distinctive style reimagines historical portraiture with animal subjects, creating pieces that are both whimsical and technically accomplished.
