Her earlier works are mostly inspired by landscapes and the soft hazy light of Scotland.

Scottish Roots and Influences

The dramatic landscapes of Scotland's Highlands, rugged east coast, and western lochs deeply influenced Madeleine's early artistic development. These formative experiences with Scotland's soft, hazy light continue to inform her work, creating a distinctive visual language that emphasizes how light transforms elements within a landscape. Every creative decision in her painting process centers around recreating these luminous effects, with particular attention to how light alters depth and atmosphere.

Global Inspirations and Artistic Evolution

Madeleine's artistic vision has expanded through her extensive travels to diverse locations including Namibia, Arizona, the Canadian Rockies, Vietnam, Cuba, and the Tyrolean Alps. These journeys have seamlessly blended with her Scottish influences, creating unique composite landscapes that transcend specific geographical locations. Her work has gained recognition through numerous exhibitions across the UK, including solo shows like "Scottish Light" at Gleneagles Townhouse and "Luminance" at Saorsa Gallery, while her paintings have found homes in prestigious collections including Gleneagles Hotel, Hampden & Co., and The Scottish Investment Trust.
