Stephen's connection to landscape has been made rich and and expansive through his career as an ecologist and painter.
Stephen grew up in west Wales and developed a deep connection and affinity for the natural world throughout childhood. This love for nature led him to study wildlife and landscape as an ecologist for thirty years, primarily in the Scottish uplands
Stephen began to focus on his painting full time in 2019 and completed the Portfolio course at Bridge House Art in Ullapool in 2020/2021. He now spends his time out in nature or painting in the studio he built with his son in the garden.
