Kirsty creates intuitively and engages with her subject to elicit a connection to the viewer.

Kirsty loves to prise out the spirit of her subject, creating intuitively. She often exaggerates anatomical features or personality to help engage with the perceptions and emotions of the viewer and stretch the imagination of what we perceive.

After more than 20 years successfully working in ceramic sculpture, Kirsty has found herself moving into bronze, partly because of demand and durability and for her own creative evolution. Kirsty's patinas are one of the signatures of her work, along with the fluid and rugged surface textures, which often reflect the nature of her subject.

Kirsty enjoys travelling, as well as stillness. She particularly loves Spain and the Balearics, where she emersed herself in nature and creative culture whilst having a family home for many years there.

Over the past decade Kirsty has returned to her birthland near the Cairngorms of Scotland, where she draws her inspiration from the interconnectedness of environment and the wildlife that surrounds her.
