Victoria's paintings are a celebration of the natural world.
Victoria Wylie creates contemporary abstract landscape paintings from her home studio in Angus, Scotland. Her work celebrates the natural world, exploring the wilderness of Scotland's land and sea through bold, atmospheric compositions that capture solitary moments surrounded by nature.
Artistic Background
Victoria graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, University of Dundee in 1997 with a BDes (Hons) in Constructed Textiles, specialising in Gobelin tapestry weaving. She completed a Master of Fine Art in 2003, developing a practice that bridges her textile foundation with contemporary painting.
Creative Vision
Victoria's paintings respond to the changing elements and rhythm of landscapes, exploring the visual tensions that arise where sky meets sea meets land. Growing up close to the North Yorkshire Moors, she developed a fascination with horizon lines and vast stretches of openness that continue to inform her work. Her paintings are exhibited throughout the UK, with artworks held in private collections across the world.
