Jennifer Irvine RGI RSW is a distinguished Scottish artist renowned for her captivating paintings of townscapes, seascapes, and still lifes. Born and educated in Glasgow, she studied Drawing and Painting at Glasgow School of Art from 1974 to 1978, laying the foundation for her artistic career.

 

 

Early Art Education

After graduating, Irvine began teaching art in various Glasgow schools while simultaneously developing her artistic practice. In 1990, she made the pivotal decision to transition to painting full-time, dedicating herself completely to her creative pursuits.

She was elected to the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts (RGI) in 2015 and the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) in 2016. Her work has been exhibited in numerous prestigious galleries across the United Kingdom, including venues in Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, and beyond. She has also received multiple awards, including the Sir William Gillies Award, the David Cargill Award, and the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow Award, solidifying her status as a prominent contemporary Scottish artist.
