After studying textile design at Central Saint Martins, Katy went on to become an abstract artist. She paints from her garden studio in Edinburgh, focusing mostly on abstract landscapes.

Much of her inspiration is drawn from the Scottish mountains and coastlines. She particularly enjoys capturing the play of light and how it creates shapes and colours across landscapes. Katy uses layers of transparent paint, and especially enjoys incorporating geometric shapes to depict the shifting atmospheres across landscapes as experienced depending on time of day.
