She aims to remind the viewer of a special place they love whether that be through colour or shape of the horizon in her work.

Katy returned to painting during the pandemic and hasn't looked back since. It was the lockdown which unlocked her creativity that had been dormant for several years. She turns to varying art forms including fashion and interiors for influences which is translated in her choice of colour palette.

Katy is inspired by capturing the shapes created in the atmosphere around her. For her, sunlight plays a big role in the composition of her works, those moments when the light illuminates everything in pinks and reds, or gives the edges of nature a glow. She aims to depict how the same landscape may feel completely different depending on the play of light, casting shadows and producing shapes. These are the moments she aspires to capture and hopes to recreate within her paintings. She aims to remind the viewer of a special place they love whether that be through colour or shape of the horizon in her work.
