Neal's works offer tangible evidence of the inherent beauty of nature.
Working and developing his practice over 20 years, Neal captures the unique, organic quality of a passing moment in his works. His characteristic textured brushstrokes add several temporal levels to his pieces. Neal's works offer tangible evidence of the inherent beauty of nature.
Deriving inspiration from the quiet corners of woodland and lakes of Tyrone, Fermanagh, Armagh, and Monaghan, Neal extends his horizons to the west coast of Ireland, and further afield. Over the years, he has developed his painterly language on location, responding to the environment and the elapsing of time. These ideas and themes are then translated onto larger works in the studio. Currentl based in Glaslough County Monaghan, Neal has recently been elected as Academician at the Royal Ulster Academy (RUA).
