David works out of his studio in a small village based in North Wales. Experimenting widely in the realms of contemporary ceramics through his oeuvre, his current practice involves a direct and intimate involvement with the material exploring both the vessel and the glaze.
David is a member of UNESCO International Academy of Ceramics and co-founded ALUSID, a sustainable surface materials manufacturer. He has exhibited widely internationally and across the UK in numerous galleries. Additionally, his work is featured in many international collections and publications. He has participated in various symposiums, and workshops including a Masterclass with Ceramic Review at the International Ceramics Studio in Kecskemet, Hungary. In 2020, David retired as Professor Emeritus of Contemporary Ceramics from the University of Central Lancashire after a teaching career spanning 40 years.
